FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURSFarmers Noah and Lorelei are passionate about growing organic vegetables and fostering happy lives for their livestock. Noah and Lorelei are proud to be contributing to the local economy by producing healthy and environmentally conscience food.
Conventional agriculture is a large contributor to climate change. Rainbow Farm is different. Noah and Lorelei strive to farm and live in a way that is gentle towards the environment. By rotationally grazing their animals, they build soils and pasture. Healthy soils feed grass and plants, which in turn sequester carbon. They keep soils intact and avoid erosion by moving their animals often. Rainbow Farm's meat and eggs are a healthy choice because they are free of antibiotics and fed non-GMO grain. They also offer zero emissions delivery with their electric vehicle. Rainbow Farm also employs three livestock guardian dogs. They play an important role in maintaining a healthy relationship between the farm and the natural environment. The dogs protect the poultry from predation, and also keep the predators safe and encourage them to control populations of pests, like mice, rats, deer, etc. Livestock guardians are a much better and more environmentally friendly option than hunting the pests. Rainbow Farm is located on a fertile ridge in Orland, and the farm is adjacent to Penobscot, Maine. You can see their farm as you travel along rt 15. You may notice many chickens enjoying the beautiful, green pasture when you drive by. That's Rainbow Farm! But remember to keep your eyes on the road. |
Farming practices at Rainbow Farm
Sustainable FarmingRainbow Farm is committed to growing MOFGA certified organic vegetables using regenerative practices. They build soils using compost made on the farm, rotating crops, and preventing erosion to name a few practices. Rainbow Farm is also a completely no spray farm.

HAPPY LIVESTOCKAnimals on Rainbow Farm enjoy the outdoors where they breathe fresh air, eat grass, chase bugs, and live as nature intended. Their poultry is also protected from predation by our livestock guardian dogs. You can visit Rainbow Farm anytime or find them at these local farmers' markets.
